A press release from the Metropolitan Police doesn't specifically name Winehouse, but reports that "police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square NW1 shortly before 16:05hrs today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased.

"On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene," the report continued. "Enquiries continue into the circumstances of the death. At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained."

To date, new details have emerged regarding Amy Winehouse' sudden death.

According to Chris Goodman, Winehouse's friend and rep, the singer's body was discovered Saturday by a security guard who had been appointed to look after her.

"She was in her bedroom after saying she wanted to sleep, and when he went to wake her he found she wasn't breathing. He called the emergency services straight away. He was very shocked. At this stage no one knows how she died. She died alone in bed."

In a statement released by Winehouse family on Sunday, they said they have "been left bereft by the loss of Amy, a wonderful daughter, sister, niece. She leaves a gaping hole in our lives. We are coming together to remember her and we would appreciate some privacy and space at this terrible time."
